Knicks Gameplan vs Hawks
Tonight the Knicks play the Atlanta Hawks for the second time in three games, with Lou williwms in the lineup the Knicks must prepare. Lets look at the game plan!
Use Bargnani - Bargs will be matched up with Al Horford. We witnessed Bargnani pull Howard away from the basket on Thursday night vs the Rockets. Knicks need to utilize that game plan again tonight.
Post Melo - Melo had a field day against the Rockets with Howard out of the paint, the Knicks will need more of the same tonight.
J.R. Smith - Woodson should try to get some set plays going for Smith, see if he can get his offense flowing. J.R. is shooting 25% since returning. If Knicks can get Melo, Bargs and Smith going at the same time, it'll be trouble for any team to defend.
Use Pablo - Pablo keeps the ball moving, makes good decisions and knocks down the three. He keeps the floor spread for Melo's inside play.
Take care of the ball. Knicks had three turnovers vs the Hawks the last game. This helps neutralize lack of rebounding and keeps Atlanta from running. Knicks do not want to get into a track meet. They will lose.
On ball defense. Use Pablo and Shumpert to guard Teague and Williams. Teague had a field day on us last game. Knicks desperately need to stop guard penetration.
Run them off the 3pt line. Knicks cannot let Korver light ut up from three, must locate him at all times.
No double teaming. Horford has more post moves than Howard. But lets see if Bargs can continue to defend the post first. When Knicks double they are usually late with rotations and guve up open threes. As mentioned earlier, Knicks cant let Korver go crazy from three.
