Knicks must draw from experience to win
The Knicks are heading to Indiana for game 6 and the biggest game of their season. Playing at the Bankers Life Field House, they will be subjected to a super hostile environment. The Pacers DO NOT want to come back to MSG to play a game 7, so their intensity and energy will be off the charts. Pacers fans understand the importance of this game and will be ready to blow the roof off the building. The Knicks will feel a tremendous amount of pressure.
But they've been here before.....
The Knicks had to close out Boston in game 6 at Boston Garden. The energy at Boston Garden was off the charts. The Knicks felt a tremendous amount of pressure. As a 2 seed playing a 7 seed, they went up 3-0, but had gave up 2 games to force a game 6. The consensus was that if Boston had won game 6, they would beat NY in a game 7 at MSG. If that happened the Knicks would have been the first team to lose a series after leading 3-0. All the spotlight was on the Knicks. The New York media and fans were panicked. The Knicks went to Boston and lead by as much as 29 before Boston went on an amazing run to get back in the game. The Knicks ultimately beat Boston in Boston to eliminate and possibly dismantle the Boston Celtics as we know them.
The Knicks need to draw from that experience. Yes, Bankers Life will be a hostile environment. But will it really be more hostile than playing vs the legendary Boston Celtics with KG and Paul Pierce in the "mystical" Boston Garden in an elimination game? Hard to believe!
